Israel strike in Gaza kills one

Israeli Air ForceIAF aircraft struck in the Gaza Strip town of Khan Yunis Friday afternoon, Palestinian medical officials said, after two Kassam rockets were earlier fired at southern Israel.

The air strike reportedly killed one man and critically wounded another.

Iraqi bomber kills 39 Shiite pilgrimage

Iraq bomb blastA female suicide bomber blew herself up in a crowd of Iraqi Shi’ite pilgrims on Friday, killing 39 people and wounding 69 others during one of the holiest events of the Shi’ite Muslim calendar, police said.

The attack on the pilgrimage route in Iskandariya, 40 km (25 miles) south of Baghdad, came a day after a bomb killed eight in the Shi’ite holy city of Kerbala, to which hundreds of thousands if not millions were headed to mark Arbain.

Abducted U.N. official in Pakistan appears in video

UN flagKidnappers of an American working for the U.N. refugee agency in Pakistan released his video on Friday in which he the sought help of the United Nations for his release.

John Solecki, head of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) office in Quetta, capital of the southwestern Baluchistan province, was snatched on February 2, after gunmen ambushed his car and shot dead his driver.

India wants more action on Mumbai

India Gate (Delhi)India has urged Islamabad to bring the Mumbai attackers to justice after Pakistan admitted the raid was partly planned on its soil.

In parliament, Indian Foreign Minister Pranab Mukherjee berated Pakistan for taking so much time in its admission.

India welcomes Mumbai 26/11 attack admission

India PakistanIndia has described the admission by Pakistan that last year’s Mumbai terror attacks were partly planned on its soil as a “positive development”.

A foreign ministry statement said India also expected Pakistan to take steps to dismantle the “infrastructure of terrorism” on its territory.
